THE Chichester Cathedral peregrine chicks have been ringed.
Photographer, Luke Dray, was at the cathedral to capture the moment and told the Observer what happened.
“On what we thought was going to be a beautiful evening the chicks were ringed by Graham Roberts, who is licensed to handle the young peregrines,” he said.
“As it turned out the weather was dreadful – the sky turned very black and before Graham was finished it started to rain quite hard.
“However, before the clouds came in mum gave us a lovely display by screaming at dad to bring some food and, when he didn’t, she helped herself from the larder.
“She was feeding the chicks as Graham stepped up to the turret, in spite of dad’s attempts to warn her of what was about to happen.
“Of course, as soon as it was all over the sky cleared and there was a beautiful sunset.”
