SPRING has finally sprung at Fittleworth Village School, as four chicks joined them at the school.
The school has five hens which live on the site, and now four chicks, which are looked after by the children at lunchtimes when they are on chicken monitor duty.
Headteacher Graham Bloom said the children were ‘delighted’ to come back from their Easter holidays to find the welcome additions to the chicken clan.
“They were all waiting expectantly over the Easter holidays,” he said.
“We have chicken monitors who feed and look after them.”
The school teaches 116 children from the village.
