CHRISTMAS came to Rotherlea care home at Petworth with carols, songs and festive jokes to entertain residents and their families and friends.

The festive season arrived courtesy of the musical duo who entertained for nearly two hours. The large ‘street area’ which covers the full length of the downstairs floor, was packed to the rafters as the audience enjoyed the songs as well as warm mulled wine and mince pies served by students from Seaford College.

Home manager Deborah Embleton said: “Its been a hectic time.

“We have recently undergone a full re-decoration in the home, which we were desperate to complete before we started Christmas decoration and festivities, but we did it and the festivities has been a wonderful success.”

Home administrator Jill Cunnington arranged the Christmas raffle which ended up being a bumper occasion with over 70 prizes.

She thanked the many Petworth business, which helped with donations.

The drawing of the Christmas raffle marked the end of the festive sing-along at Rotherlea. “And with so many prizes there were lots of winners and smiling faces,” said Deborah.
