A FORMER county councillor has gained a seat on Chichester District Council in the Westbourne by-election yesterday (October 17).

The by-election was called after the resignation of councillor Maureen Elliott, and Mark Dunn, the Conservative candidate, will now serve on the district council until May 2015.

UKIP’s Alicia Denny came second in the polls, and, with Green Party’s Thomas Brian French Coming third.

The Liberal Democrat candidate Dr Phillip MacDougall came fourth, and Dr Andrew Emerson of Patria got just three votes.
