Costa Coffee, which has planning consent to take over the premises in North Street recently vacated by the Unusual Food Company, has withdrawn two additional planning applications.
One relates to a new shopfront and entrance door.
The second concerns a fascia sign, a projecting sign, a circular sign behind the glass, and also a replacement awning.
Chichester District Council has been notified both applications are currently withdrawn.
The move follows the discovery the building is, in fact, listed.
The English Heritage listing was made in 1987.
Council planning officers had warned Costa its proposals would be objected to, anyway, on the grounds of their effect on the Midhurst conservation area.
