THERE is to be a cremation service tomorrow (Thursday, July 31) for the victim of the horrific accident in the centre of Midhurst, Josie Incisivo.

It takes place at Chichester crematorium at 4.15pm and Josie’s godson Silvio Bukbardis said: “It’s been decided this will be an open ceremony so anyone who wants to attend is more than welcome.”

After the cremation, Josie’s ashes will be taken to Southern Italy where she was brought up and where members of her family still live.

79 year old Josie who was a nurse at King Edward VII hospital for many years, was killed after being hit by a lorry as she crossed North Street.

Many people were traumatised after witnessing the horrific accident or trying to help the emergency services afterwards.

A community gathering was held in the parish church to support those affected as well as Josie’s family who live in America and Italy.

Now a support group is being set up.

‘Purity In Talk Counselling’ based in Midhurst, have volunteered to organise a free community group, run by three of their qualified counsellors, over four weeks from 6.30pm-8pm. It starts on Tuesday August 26. “Participating will offer you the opportunity to understand and manage your own experience of this traumatic event in a confidential environment supported by professionals,” said a spokesman.
