POLICE have asked members of the public to ensure they lock their cars after a number of recent break-ins to unlocked vehicles.

Inspector Will Rolls, Neighbourhood Policing Team Inspector for the Chichester District in Sussex Police warned people to ensure their cars are locked and secure at all times, even if they are in private driveways.

He said over social networking site Twitter: “Several cars broken into on #ChichesterDistrict over the weekend. All left #Unlocked on driveways with valuables on display! #DontMakeItEasy.”

Call Sussex Police on 101 if you are the victim of a crime.
