Raiders who targeted a computer shop in Midhurst in the early hours of the morning sped away at 100 mph when they were disturbed by police.
As the police car passed the North Street shop at 2.54am officers were alerted by a figure running towards a parked Audi, from the shop.
“They turned and saw the car speeding away into Bepton Road, heading south. It reached speeds of up to 100mph before evading police at the junction of Bugshill Lane and Bell Lane,” said a police spokesman.
Tne raiders had forced entry through the front door of the shop where a laptop had been taken from the counter, but it was left on the floor.
