A CYCLIST in his 30’s was airlifted to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with serious injuries after colliding with a vehicle near Chichester on Sunday.
Police and ambulance services attended the scene on the A285 at Duncton Hill at 9.35am, where it was determined the man, who has not been named, should be evacuated for urgent medical treatment.
The road remained closed for more than two hours while officers investigated the incident. It is believed the injured man was taking part in a sporting activity when the accident happened.
A Police spokesperson said: “The male cyclist was travelling down the hill when he lost control of his bike and collided with the rear of a car.
Both land and air ambulances attended but it was decided to airlift him to hospital but we have not yet received an update from the hospital. He was suffering from serious injuries.”
