FERNHURST has chosen its May queen for 2015.

And deserving winner Daisy Skelton is the recipient of the highly sought-after crown.

Daisy will be crowned at the Revels on Sunday, May 17, by last year’s queen, Rose Buchanan.

There were six potential queens, but three of them opted instead to be attendants for the ceremony, leaving Daisy, Erin Haigh and Martha Shepherd for the selection panel.

It was a tough choice for the judges.

Erin was chosen for the other speaking part as the past queen’s attendant.

Both she and Daisy have been involved in the queen’s entourage before so know the ropes and both are capable speakers enjoying their acting, Erin at Midhurst Rother College and Daisy at Bohunt School in Liphook.

The others will all act as attendants on the day and now have to choose their dresses and attend four rehearsals with the heralds, flower-scatterers, garland-bearers, crown-bearers and others who will all carry out their roles in front of the public on the day.

Anyone is welcome to get involved with the event.
