Date set for murder trial of Peter Foster

A FORMER detective accused of killing his partner has denied murder.

Peter Foster, 36, of West Street, Haslemere, has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Heather Cooper, 33, who served with Surrey Police – she was killed by a blow to the head and a stab wound to the throat in October last year.

Her body was found in Blackdown Woods near Lurgashall in the early hours of Monday, October 17.

Foster appeared at Lewes Crown Court on Monday morning to enter his plea – his trial will begin in Lewes on June 11.

Mother of two Heather had served as a detective constable in Guildford’s Public Protection Investigation Unit.
