TOP fashion designers Tabitha Webb and Beulah London have been unveiled as the first names to create bespoke jockey silks for the Magnolia Cup Ladies’ Race.

The glamorous charity race, during the sell-out Glorious Goodwood Festival from July 30 to August 3, sees celebrities taking to their mounts in aid of a great cause.

This year, cash is being raised for The Haven, which offers free centres for those fighting breast cancer, and Best Beginnings, a charity dedicated to ending child heath inequalities in the UK.

Trained by top racing trainers, all eyes are on the stars’ fabulous silks as much as their riding skills during the event, which has already raised more than £400,000 in its first two years.

Designer Tabitha Webb, responsible for an eye-catching horse print with a green background, is known for her feminine and modern stylings.

“My design is inspired by the main attraction at the races – the horses!

“I wanted to reflect the magic they generate racing round the track and I settled on a colourful funfair-themed caracole. I can’t wait to soak up the atmosphere on the day and see my design in the flesh!” said Webb, who is inspired by vintage prints and classic iconic cuts.

Also asked to design a silk was Beulah London, a luxury, ethically-sourced, fashion label founded by Lady Natasha Rufus Isaacs and Lavinia Brennan.

Known as the go-to label for royals and celebrities alike, including Kate Middleton, Jessica Alba and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, their jockey silk is infused with an electric blue bold heart print.

“We have really enjoyed designing a jockey silk for the Magnolia Cup in aid of two fantastic charities and can’t wait to watch the brave ladies racing on the day, decked out in a multitude of rather fabulous, bespoke jockey silks,” said Lady Natasha.

Last year Kate Moss, Issa and Vivienne Westwood designed silks which were worn by the likes of Burberry model Edie Campbell and radio and TV star Sara Cox. Already confirmed to take part this year on Thursday, August 1, are Channel 4 TV presenter Emma Spencer, Talk Talk’s CEO Dido Harding and Sky Racing’s Gina Bryce.
