THIS year Petworth Park will host an exciting new fitness challenge, open to seasoned athletes and exercise-newcomers alike.
The Professional Sports Group has announced a brand new off-road trail running event.
The inaugural ‘Discovery Run’ will take place in the grounds of Petworth Park on Saturday, May 30.
The Discovery Run is a mass-participation off-road trail running event offering a variety of race distances, including 5km, 10km, half-marathon and a kids run.
Ian Pearce at Petworth House and Park said: “We are very much looking forward to working with Professional Sports Group again this year.
“This Discovery Run will take competitors into areas of the park not open to visitors to experience an exciting range of terrains.”
This follows the hugely successful Brownlee Tri at Petworth last year, hosted by champion brothers Jonathan and Alistair Brownlee.
Runners will make their way along undulating single lap courses, twist and turn through woodland areas, race through open parkland, navigate the deer park and take in the views of the picturesque lakes, culminating in a memorable finish in front of Petworth House.
Whether you’re after a fun new challenge or a seasoned runner looking to test your limits, the Discovery Run has a route for everyone.
Petworth Park offers stunning scenic trails through the 700-acre park of the iconic National Trust property.
