Driver dies after Midhurst crash

An 84-year-old man has died following a road traffic collision in Midhurst.

The crash happened on Sunday, May 19, just before 5pm on the A272, North Street.

The victim and his 81-year-old wife were travelling in their Vauxhall Agila on the bridge that crosses the River Rother when it was in collision with a black Range Rover.

The couple, from Guildford, Surrey, were taken to St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester with what appeared to be minor injuries, but the man died four days later.

The 34-year-old local driver of the Range Rover was uninjured.
