A car parked beside the garage also caught fire and was burned out.

There were no injuries but owners of the nearby bungalow were evacuated as the smoke spread and Dodsley Lane was closed for a short while.

The cause is believed to have been accidental.

The fire was in a domestic garage and workshop. The Rotherfield Motor Company in Dodsley Lane was not affected by the incident, and remains open for business as usual.
