EASEBOURNE is set to welcome a new fair that will showcase classic wares.

It will be held at Cowdray Hall on a regular basis in 2014 with new exhibitors at each event.

Lucy Haywood’s business, The Country Brocante, started in 2012 in Wisborough Green Village Hall.

More than a year on, it now has links with The Cowdray Hall to start running events.

Lucy said: “I started my business ten years ago as a vintage china and prop hire company.

“When rents went up, we had to close our shop and decided we would start a fair.

“That way, we could sell alongside other ladies we had met over the years who also needed a space to sell their lovingly-sourced vintage and antique home ware and artisan gifts.”

The fair will show the talents of 40 exhibitors, with everything from French furniture and decorative antiques to specialist textile dealers, artisan makers and lots of vintage treasures.

There will also be a room dedicated to clothing and jewellery plus a winter courtyard with a gazebo village of stalls and wreath making by resident florist www.wild-willow.co.uk.

“We scour the countryside for new and exciting stall holders – we are more of a fair for pretty country living rather than just focusing on ‘vintage’.

“Being passionate about British products, we are proud to have a wonderful collection of small British makers including Parkminster who make and sell wonderful candles and body products,” said Lucy.

“We also make our own range of clothing from antique French linen, hand-dyed linens and fabrics sourced in the UK.

“We sell our range at our fairs and hopefully soon our new shop.

“I run my business along with looking after my two little girls Daisy, 4, and Florrie, 2.

“It is very busy trying to juggle but I love what I do and fit it around my family, plus my mother and father are very involved, helping at every event.”

The fair will be on November 30 at Cowdray Hall from 11am-5pm. Entrance is £2 and under 14s are free.

There is parking space available at The Cowdray Farm Shop.
