PUPILS at Bury CE (Aided) Primary School were putting the ‘oooh’ back into food when they got busy in the kitchen as part of British Food Fortnight.

The school welcomed chef and food writer Rosemary Moon, who lives near Chichester, to host a special cookery day.

After donning their aprons, the children got the chance to cook with a range of different fruit and vegetables such as apples, pumpkins and marrows and also sampled some delicious recipes made using ingredients sourced from gardens around the area as well as hedgerows and Arundel Farmers’ Market.

British Food Fortnight runs until October 20 and this event was funded by the school’s Friends group.
