MIDHURST Nursery Class is having a double celebration – a new term at its site in Lamberts Lane, and the graduation of a staff member.
Kirstin Bosley has just graduated from the University of Chichester with a BA in Early Years Professional Status.
Now she can put her newly-acquired knowledge to good use with the current influx of students being welcomed through the nursery doors.
The class was formerly at the old youth club building before moving to the new site at the other end of the road.
Chris Reseigh opened the nursery and will next May be celebrating its 30-year anniversary. “We are still going strong,” Chris said. “And we have a close working relationship with all the primary schools in the area.
“It’s really nice to see a lot of my old pupils around – Midhurst is a small town so I bump into them regularly.”
Children now have the advantage of being able to play outside whenever they wish with a beautiful backdrop of rolling hills behind the garden walls.
And their personal educational requests are also met – one of the most recent topics learnt was superheroes as all the boys developed an interest in the comic book and film genre.
Now they are interested in local firefighters – seeing the trucks go up and down North Street – so this will be incorporated into their curriculum.
The nursery offers flexible opening hours to accommodate the numbers of children, currently operating from 9am-1pm everyday, and until 3pm on a Wednesday. Hours may increase over the summer term.
Children as young as two are also able to attend, under new government guidelines.
The new contact for the nursery is 07599905611.
