THERE was an invasion of ancient Greeks at Midhurst Primary School as pupils got into the spirit of Olympic celebrations.
They came dressed in togas, armour, beards and laurel wreaths so they could get a taste of the era and took part in activities such as creating an Ancient Greek shield, designing a legendary mythological monster, investigating Archimedes’ spiral and producing a Greek buffet.
They competed in Olympic sports and a beastly battle, using their shields, and completed the day with the awarding of special wreaths.
Headteacher Matthew Barnes said: “The children learnt an amazing amount. Thanks to the staff for their hard work, parents for their support and the children for making the day something everyone involved will remember.”
