SIMPLY outstanding – that’s the verdict on Harting Village Pre-School after an inspector’s visit.
The 17 categories by which Ofsted judges a pre-school were all graded at 1, signifying exceptionally-high quality across the board.
“Overall, the quality of provision is outstanding,” are the opening words of the inspector, Lisa Cupples, in her report.
She went on: “All children are extremely happy and settled during their time at the pre-school. Children are making rapid progress towards the early learning goals and their care, play and learning is promoted successfully in all areas.
“The well-established staff team work hard to identify any areas for improvement, through ongoing and robust evaluation.”
The six members of staff had ‘an exceptionally good understanding’ of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework, the inspector said, which contributed to their charges’ rapid progress.
The pre-school opened in 1983 and operates from the village hall.
