Midhurst students named winners in Rotary writing competition

MIDHURST Rother College students Ebony McKay and Bethan Jerrett have been named winners in the Rotary Club of Midhurst and Petworth’s young writer competition.

The national competition aims to encourage excellence in writing and the first round organised by Rotary Club of Midhurst and Petworth members saw entries from students at Midhurst Rother College and Seaford College.

The prose section winner was Bethan Jerrett and the poetry section winner was won by Ebony McKay.

At the presentation of the certificates in the college, Rotary president Paul Ryan announced that Ebony’s poem had been chosen to go forward to the next stage of the national competition.
