FACED with tighter budgets and dark evenings, the parents and carers of Stedham Squirrels pre-school group decided to organise a fashion show to lift spirits and raise funds.
With male hosts in full tuxedos serving wine, the show was held at the Grange Centre in Midhurst and organiser Nicky Tucker turned it into a real community event.
Gemma Gabler, the pre-school leader, was a model, alongside Krissi Cousins from the Blacksmith’s Daughter florist, Hattie Jamieson and Millie Randle from Midhurst Rother College, and Becky Hill, Louise Leeds and Kerry Pink who have children at the Squirrels.
Nicky Turner said: “It was very short notice to pull the evening together but everyone was great.
“I had to rush around in the last week as I was short of a couple of models, but the community spirit in Stedham and Midhurst is so strong that offers of help came from several local people and the businesses were very generous with raffle prizes.”
