A Billingshurst woman is appealing for help as she looks to support a charity close to her heart.

Sue Rogers, of Holders Close, is looking for a children’s entertainer, crafters and items to sell at her family fun day at the Trinity United Reformed Church on Saturday, July 16, from 2pm to 4.30pm.

She will be raising money for The Encephalitis Society in memory of her father, Jim, who died from the condition, an inflammation of the brain, earlier this year.

Jim was deputy quantity surveyor for West Sussex County Council in the 1960s and ’70s, before retiring and going freelance. He went on to work with many famous companies, such as Estée Lauder, McDonald’s and Monsoon.

Sue said: “There will be local produce and crafts for sale, a barbecue, cream teas, jumble and a raffle.

“I am desperately seeking some donated items to sell and to find any crafters or people who would like to have a small stall at the event.”

A children’s entertainer would also be welcomed, she added, along with any donations for children’s activities, such as crayons, pens, paint and glitter, as well as plants, herbs, jams and chutneys.

Anyone who can help Sue and The Encephalitis Society is asked to contact her on 079122 18623 or by emailing su.rogers1234@gmail.com
