The missing tortoises featured in the Observer earlier this month still haven’t been found.

Their heartbroken owner believes someone has the pair, and is continuing her desperate appeal for information.

Phoebe Downs, 20, has owned Marigold and Clover since she was ten.

They vanished from the garden of her home at Roundle Square Road, Felpham, on July 1, and so far there’s been no sign of them.

Phoebe said: “We are desperate for any information, good or bad, and are offering a substantial reward to anyone that comes forward and returns them.

“Someone out there has them, and therefore someone close to them must be aware they have them.”

As reported, Phoebe has had the animals for a decade and planned to ‘grow old with them’.

She said: “Looking after them and my other animals gave me something positive in my life and provided a constant focus for me.

“I even wrote my recent college project dissertation on the importance of animals for human’s psychological health. I’m absolutely heartbroken that this has now happened.”

Described as ‘about 20cm in size’, one is slightly larger and lighter ‘with a distinctive scar on her shell’. Call Phoebe with news on 07931771907.
