Fernhurst pupils bury time capsule for jubilee

As part of the jubilee celebrations the children of Fernhurst Primary School buried a time capsule which they hope will be opened in 60 years’ time.

After considerable thought the items put in the capsule included a school sweatshirt, a local paper for that week, some 2012 coins. a photo of the whole school and a letter from the headmaster, Gary Parkes.

The two youngest children, Hermione Snelling and Tom Mariner, helped to bury the capsule before older pupils covered it in soil and added a plaque.
