Two rising young tennis stars from Fishbourne have completed a national tennis tournament with an unbeaten record – in their first year of trying.

Ben Jameson and Callum Budd, both members of Fishbourne Tennis Club, took part in the boys’ under-12s Aegon Team Tennis League, playing juniors from other clubs at both singles and doubles – and winning all their matches.

“The boys played beautiful tennis, winning gracefully and representing Fishbourne Tennis Club immensely well – the perfect role models for other junior players,’ said their coach Alex Bone of Generation Tennis, who presented Ben and Callum with their medals at the club’s finals day.

Bone added: “This is a fantastic start to the West Sussex Junior Leagues with Fishbourne Tennis Club winning division four.”

Fishbourne Tennis Club, at the Fishbourne Centre on Blackboy Lane, have more than 50 juniors among a 250-strong membership.
