Francis report welcomed

A HEALTH trust has welcomed the publication of a report investigating mortality rates by Mid Staffordshire NHS foundation trust.

Lisa Rodrigues, chief executive of the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, said: “This watershed report will help the NHS to learn and to improve, but only if we promote a culture of openness, compassion and learning from when things have gone wrong. Most of all, we must all listen carefully to patients and their families.

“Nothing should be more important to any trust board than the quality of the services they provide.”

Sussex partnership has developed a five-point programme with staff, patients and families to develop patients care and improve their experiences.
