THE Midhurst and District Access guide has received £7,500 towards the publishing costs of the guide outlining accessible venues in the area for people with disabilities and parents with babies and young children.
The grant is one of eight ‘Big Society’ projects across West Sussex which have received financial backing from the county council.
Cabinet member for finance and resources, Michael Brown, approved £151,250 in grants to help the community schemes in the latest round of applications to be considered, all of which were deemed to be ‘sustainable and having a long lasting benefit to society’.
“Each and every one of these diverse projects can have a lasting impact on their communities – and we hope this is just the start,” he said.
“Funding will be available for next year and community groups wishing to come forward and apply should discuss their proposals with their local County Councillor.”
