A limited number of places are available on the University of Chichester’s ‘10 fundraising big ideas mornings’ this summer.
These short workshops, which run between 9.30am and 2pm, are designed to cover the key ideas. They will take place on the Bognor Regis campus.
The workshops will be: fundraising and the 3rd sector on May 27, donor psychology on June 6, building a case for support on June 24, individual giving on June 27, community fundraising on July 1, events fundraising on July 4, grantmakers on July 5, corporate on July 6, writing to donors on May 7, and ethics and regulation of July 8.
Sessions are free, but places are limited. To book a place, email Donna DayLafferty, senior lecturer, on firstname.lastname@example.org with a message no longer than 150 words, stating the applicant’s current role within their charity and the sessions they would like to attend. Applications close on May 13.
Donna said: “For smaller charities which may only employ one fundraiser - that’s 97 per cent of all charities according to the Foundation for Social Improvement - having someone who knows their way round all the different approaches is vital.
“If a smaller charity’s fundraiser is only really confident running events, but making grant applications is the charity’s best option, then it may find itself missing out on income that could be vital to the charity.”
