THE SUN shone on the Fernhurst Revels, turning it into one of the best events for several years.
It brought crowds from all directions and stalls had some of their best days ever.
The beer tent had to send for new supplies, the Scouts almost ran out of burgers and bangers, the hog roast did a roaring trade and more dogs turned out to be judged than ever before.
The event which took place on Sunday (May 19) is traditionally based on the coronation of the May Queen, this year Grace Marston. As the procession of the queen and her attendants, Rose Buchanan, Erin Haigh, Daisy Skelton and India Webber, moved from Nappers Wood to the recreation ground, flower scatterers laid fresh flowers in front of her and heralds Ned Dowling and Harvey Marston sounded their trumpets.
The queen was attended by page boys Jamie Chikhlia and Sheriffo Suso, and last year’s May queen, Tabatha Weir, followed with her attendant Elena Kettle.
