Getting around Midhurst leaflet launched

A NEW leaflet setting out all the public transport in the Midhurst area has been launched.

The leaflet, ‘Getting Around Midhurst’, has been produced by the Midhurst Community Transport Group, largely by volunteers which comes under the Midhurst Community Partnership umbrella.

Spokesman Nick Wheeler said: “The Midhurst Community Transport Group operates to identify gaps in and possible solutions for provision of transport in Midhurst and the surrounding parishes. From the outset the group identified one of its first priorities should be to produce a leaflet in hard copy form which gave a comprehensive overview of the existing transport provision in the area.

“A soft copy version is on the West Sussex County Council website, however many of those who we need to help do not have access to the internet and are unable to obtain this vital information.”

The leaflet has been produced with funding from the North of the Downs Committee of West Sussex County Council and Action in Rural Sussex.

Mr Wheeler added: “This is a marvellous initiative as it will give local residents and visitors quick and easy access to information on public transport in the area.”

Leaflets are available in the Grange Leisure Centre, library and the Information Centre as well as through parish councils.

The transport group draws volunteers from local organisations and is sponsored by West Sussex County Council.
