THERE is good news for motorists across the Midhurst and Petworth area as the cost of petrol plummets in line with falling oil prices.
At the Flower Bowl filling station near Petworth on the A283, customers have been taking to social media to spread the word after proprietors Prapaharan and Kirupaharan Pooplasingam changed fuel suppliers.
Prapaharan said the garage’s fuel was now supplied by Harvester Energy.
“It has enabled us to bring the price down considerably and they are now competitive with the lowest in the region.”
The proprietor said his petrol was now 108p per litre, while diesel was 115p.
At the nearest westerly petrol station in Easebourne, the BP garage, Gillhams, the price of fuel has also dropped.
Diesel at Gillhams is now 115.9p per litre while petrol is selling at 108.9p
Manager Mark Dumper said: “The price of fuel started going down a couple of months ago. “It’s now at its lowest to date, but may go down even more as the price of oil is still dropping.”
At the Texaco filling station in Midhurst’s Bepton Road, petrol was priced at 109.9p per litre and diesel was 117.9p, with a further price cut anticipated.
