A FIRST birthday party has been enjoyed by members of a group for Bognor Regis and Chichester VIPs – visually-impaired people.

The celebrations marked the end of a successful first year for the Chichester branch of the Macular Disease Society charity.

The society was formed to provide a meeting point and social occasion for those who have the eyesight condition which damages central vision.

Branch chairman and team leader Russell Miller said: “Everybody seems to like the branch.

“All the members wanted us to continue our activities, which was good.”

The branch meets from 1.30pm on the first Wednesday of each month at Pilgrim’s Court on Tozer Way in Chichester.

Anyone who would like more information can contact Mr Miller on 01243 261803.
