Under the direction of Sharon Enticknap, the show saw entrants put on a strong display of their finest fruits, vegetables and flowers, with other classes such as flower arrangements, photography and cooking.

The event saw everyone in the community getting involved, with Ian Peters organising the book stall, Klaus Buell arranging the bric-a-brac, a motorcycle display laid on by the Royal British Legion, and entertainment provided by the Liss Band.

Also on the day were children’s activities and games, co-ordinated by Debbie Pattinson to help raise money for Winston’s Wish, the charity that supports bereaved children.

Brian Allison, chairman of the Village Hall Committee, said: “It gave me real pleasure to see so many enjoy themselves in the sunshine on Saturday.

“The Rogate show relies so much on people in the village giving their valuable time and this year they were as generous as ever.

“The funds raised will ensure the village hall and recreation ground remain a vibrant part of the village.”
