All creatures great and small gathered for the annual animal service at Iping church.

The service, held every year, invites pets of all shapes and sizes, and their owners, along to the ancient church for a special Sunday service.

Dozens of residents went along and got involved in the fun service.

Villager Vanessa Blaber said: “The fourth annual animal service, taken by the Rev Roger Williamson, was held at Iping Church.

“It was attended by 27 people, 17 dogs and two tortoises.

“All the dogs behaved well and after a hymn and some prayers, they were each blessed in turn with their proud owners looking on.”

St Margaret’s Church in Fernhurst holds a similar annual service, inviting all pet-owners from across the village.
