Italian market fills Midhurst Market Square
And it came from the Italian Market which brought with it a host of treats from olives to bread and pizza.
It was the third visit of Italia in Piazza to Midhurst and rural towns coordinator Melanie Burgoyne reported: “it was another successful day in the glorious sunshine.”
She added: “There was a constant flow of people and stall holders were very happy with the day.
“Equally, I have received positive comments from businesses who reported a strong day’s trade and residents have been commenting on social media about how nice it was to see the square and the surrounding area looking busy.”
She said the purpose of the markets was to raise awareness of the old Market Square “so visitors discover the whole town and have more reasons to come back, hopefully leading to more footfall in the town.
“This is a key aim of the Town Team and my role, which is funded by Chichester District Council and the town council,” added Melanie.
She said the market operator planned to return to Midhurst next April and either July or September.
