THERE was a host of golden daffodils on show at this year’s Sutton and District Horticultural Society Spring Show – and they were there in their biggest numbers for five years.

Show secretary Judy Seers told the Observer: “Once again the standard was very high and received lots of compliments from our judges.

“Fortunately the rain dried up in the afternoon, not sufficiently for tea outside, but we had many visitors to the show who all had an extremely happy and social occasion, wandering around the exhibits, enjoying all the homemade cakes and after prize-giving, a very successful raffle. It really was a delightful day.”

For all the results, see this week’s Midhurst and Petworth Observer (April 10).
