THE latest workshop from Fernhurst Horticultural Society proved to be one of the most popular yet.

Spring into Action was held at Cooksbridge House by Anne and Noel Tonkin, along with Louise Buchanan who split pupils into three groups around the garden.

Members were taught about perennial plants, herbaceous plants, and the care and maintenance of shrubs and trees.

Around 30 members and friends were delighted with everything they learnt during the morning in the sun, which included a break for coffee, homemade cakes and biscuits, giving the keen gardeners a chance to discuss gardening trials and tribulations.

The next event is the Fernhurst Horticultural Society quiz which is so popular, it has already sold out.

On Thursday, April 10 will be the spring show and it is hoped masses of spring flowers will be filling the village hall, along with jewellery, handicrafts and photography.
