BREAKING NEWS: Driver charged after Wisborough Green crash

A DRIVER is due to appear in court after a single vehicle crash near Wisborough Green.

Emergency services were called to Kirdford Road, near Wisborough Green, at 9.45pm on Saturday, November 30, after a Ford Fiesta crashed into a bridge.

Student Jamie Wrigley, 22, of Northway Road, Wick, was charged with failing to provide a specimen of breath, driving with no insurance, threatening behaviour, and resisting arrest.

He is due to appear on bail at Worthing Magistrates Court on January 14, 2014.

A 22-year old Wick man who was a passenger in the car was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital to be treated for a serious but not life threatening leg injury.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue crews from Petworth, Crawley and Horsham were called to the scene and used hydraulic rescue equipment to release one person trapped in the car.

Crews had cleared the area by 11.30pm.
