HEYSHOTT charity Canine Partners is inviting volunteers to a puppy parent volunteer open day at the centre.

Trainer Elaine Potter said: “We had a record-breaking year last year and want to do the same again in 2014. To do this we need puppy parents to help us train dogs and transform lives.”

Elaine and her team will be on hand on February 17 at 10.30am to introduce potential volunteers to pups and demonstrate the training techniques that go into producing an assistance dog.

Anyone interested is being asked to contact the team to confirm their place.

Puppy parents are volunteers who take a puppy from eight weeks old into their homes, and attend a weekly class, through to the point they are ready to move on to advanced training at around 12-15 months.

Anyone interested can contact the puppy office on 01730 716017 or email puppyoffice@caninepartners.org.uk.
