SHE introduced the world to the now famous Cocking Crunch, and now Linda Henshaw’s equally renowned mince pies are back to tempt everyone for the festive season.

Paul and Linda Henshaw have run the village store and post office in Cocking since 2008.

And Linda has successfully put the village on the gastronomic map with her mouth watering homemade delicacies, which she sells by the box load every week.

Linda said: “This has been a record-breaking year. I have already made more than 1,000 mince pies – a record for November.

“I have received one order for 144 pies, another for 60 and one for 40.

“People order them for work parties, lunch clubs and family events.

“Last year I made more than 2,500.

“And Cocking Crunch is still going absolutely crazy – people can’t be without that!

“My scones are suffering a bit, though, it’s not really the season for them.

“I never stop baking.

“I probably spend three or four hours a day cooking during mince pie time.

“It’s impossible to say how many I’ll end up making this year.”

So everyone had better get their order for pies in quickly – or Santa may get their first.
