AFTER achieving incredible success in recent years, businesswoman Lucy Haywood will once more return to Midhurst with another of her hotly-anticipated vintage fairs.

The second event of its kind at Cowdray Hall, a fair will take place on Friday, April 4 with an evening sale from 5pm-8pm then all day on Saturday from 9.30am-4pm.

Lucy, 34, said: “I started my business in 2008 as a china hire and antique and vintage styling service, and we were one of the first in Sussex to offer this.

“I then went on to open a shop and then a barn selling decorative antiques and vintage furniture.

“With rising rents and rates, I decided in 2010 to start my first fair in Sussex offering space to others to sell their treasures.

“The fairs have gone from strength to strength.

“Last year we teamed up with Cowdray and now run an event at the hall twice a year.

“I run my business alongside looking after my family – Daisy, four, Florrie, two, and keeping our tumbledown cottage lovely!

“The fair is a family affair and my sister, a florist at www.wild-willow.co.uk, helps with admin and sells her bouquets while my parents run the tearooms.”

The Country Brocante at Cowdray Hall will have two beautiful rooms and a courtyard full of wonderful exhibitors selling decorative antiques, antique painted furniture, pretty textiles, artisan-made gifts and lots of vintage treasures.

There will be specialist dealers selling Hungarian and French linen and textiles, antique garden furniture and tools, furniture and handmade home interiors.

Following the success of the last fair at the hall, Lucy decided to open the fair on Friday evening as a ticket-only event for all those keen to shop before the event opens on Saturday.

The Friday evening sale is £5 and tickets can be bought from the Cowdray Farm Shop, by calling 01403 780381 or email bookings@thecountrybrocante.co.uk

The Saturday show is £3 on the door and no ticket is required.

Parking is available at Cowdray Farm Shop cafe which will be providing the refreshments and the Cowdray tuk tuk will be on site to serve hot drinks.
