THREE East Wittering firefighters are pedalling their way across the coast for the British Heart Foundation.
Crew manager Neil Hill and colleagues Mark Figg and Alex Mould will be cycling around 60 miles from Clapham Common in London to Madeira Drive on Brighton seafront, this Sunday (June 15).
“This is one of the challenges being undertaken by Alex this year, who is raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Trust by completing ten charitable endeavours in ten months in memory of his sister Melissa, who died of CF,” said Neil.
“We wanted to support Alex. The London to Brighton cycle is a major fundraiser for the BHF and we have all been training three times a week for the past few months.
“Mark stepped in only two weeks ago for firefighter Neil Bridcutt, who dislocated his shoulder on a swift water rescue training exercise.
“Gravel Lane Garage Services have very kindly sponsored us, giving us the use of a support van complete with tools. This will be invaluable to us as the van can follow the route and carry all the spares we may need. It will transport the bikes to the start line, then be at the finish for when we arrive – hopefully!”
A sponsorship form is available at Gravel Lane Garage in Chichester. For details on Alex’s Adventures, go to Alex Facebook
