THE Fernhurst Centre has announced the winners of a competition that challenged entrants to send a Fernhurst calendar as far away as possible.

Manager Pauline Colcutt announced winners and results were so close they enlisted the help of a geography teacher. The top three entrants had all sent their calendars to New Zealand.

Winner Peter Taylor sent his to New Plymouth, a distance of 18,551 kilometres.

Second was Richard Coe who sent his to Rotorua, 18,493 kilometres away, and third was Glenys Parkhouse allowing friends in Katikati, 18,442 kilometres away, to see the marvellous countryside around Fernhurst.

The prize bottles of wine, were, however, Australian!
