DESPITE a cold May afternoon, more than 24 members of the Fernhurst Good Companions visited the garden at Park House at the second invitation of Peter and Isabel Bristowe.
The previous visit had been last August when the garden was in a different state of growth and members enjoyed seeing the spring shrubs in flower and the start of the vegetable season with seedlings in the raised vegetable beds and the greenhouses.
The wild flower gardens were also full of colour, with paths mown through them.
The hosts invited everybody into the warmth of the house for tea and cakes and they admired the garden and the views across fields, woods and hills to Henley village and Older Hill.
The next meeting is on Wednesday June 11 when it is hoped to have a talk on the work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission or on Driving Miss Daisy.
It is in the village hall at 2.30pm and all from Fernhurst and the surrounding villages are welcome.
