The scouts mass walk, at the Robertson Memorial

MORE than 80 Beaver scouts from colonies in Haslemere, Camelsdale, and Fernhurst gathered at the Hillcrest Cafe car park at Hindhead for a walk around the Devil’s Punchbowl and the Gibbet.

Parents, dogs, and siblings joined the group for the enjoyable stroll. Their first stop was at the Robertson Memorial where National Trust warden Al Taylor explained about the memorial and its significance this year. They also sowed poppy seeds around the Punchbowl which should be in flower in June when the trust holds first world war centenary events.
