FERNHURST Good Companions invited members of the Haslemere Stroke Club to tea and to share entertainment from Fernhurst Primary School’s choir.

Sue Gibbon brought two dozen children who make up the choir, to the village hall, along with portable staging so everyone could see the concert.

The children sang a selection of songs, accompanied by Mrs Talks on the piano.

They also played solos on violins, guitars and piano, duets on flutes and groups on recorders.

Sue said she was delighted with the chance the afternoon gave the children to perform.

The audience was also delighted and very impressed with the level of competence from the performers, who were rewarded with cake and chocolates.

A sumptuous tea of sandwiches and a mass of homemade cakes was served by the committee after the entertainment and everyone was encouraged to take home extra slices.
