THE Kirdford Neighbourhood Plan will be the first in the Chichester District to
go to referendum when the poll opens tomorrow Thursday, May 1.

The steering committee has spent two years working on the plan, which will govern how the parish of Kirdford develops in the next 15 years.

And on Thursday, Kirdford villagers will be asked to vote ‘yes’ or ‘no’ on whether they support proposals for development.

The poll will be held in the village hall and voting will take place between 7am-10pm.

All Kirdford parishioners over the age of 18 are eligible to vote.

Josef Ransley, who leads the steering committee, said: “A simple majority in favour means the plan will become planning law for the parish.”
