LADY Egremont is once again opening her private gardens at Petworth House to the public in aid of charity.

A continuing labour of love which began not long after she married Lord Egremont and moved to Petworth House in 1978, the gardens are still for the most part a glorious secret which Lady Egremont shares several times a year when she opens the gardens to help raise money for charities.

On May 15 she is opening the gardens to Petworth, Egdean and Tillington residents who are invited to tour the gardens and stay for a garden party.

The event is in aid of St Mary’s Church just a stone’s thrown from the gardens.

The gardens will be open from 4pm-6.30pm, entry is by ticket only, costing £5 per person
and afternoon team will also be available.

The tickets can be bought from The Bay Tree Bakery, Golden Square or by post with a stamped addressed reply envelope to Judy Howard, Woodlea, Northmead, Petworth, GU28 9NJ.

Anyone who would like more information should contact Judy on 01798 343220.
