THE new president of the South of England Agricultural Society, Lord Egremont, has been welcomed at the society’s annual meeting held at the South of England showground in Ardingly.
Out-going president and actress Dame Penelope Keith and vice-president Sarah Peay received silver salvers for their service and were commended for their hard work.
Leading south-east farmer,Michael Lambert was re-elected as chairman.
He is also secretary of the Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth, working closely with Princess Anne, and has supported the society for many years.
His farming expertise spans decades, from training at the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester, to managing farms.
